When people think about exposure from an article, video, or news, it's usually around the attention that comes in.
Consider another kind of exposure: outward exposure.
An example is you write an article that's valuable to readers. When people share that article, you get great exposure. However, that article also gives you something to offer in Facebook groups, podcasts, Quora answers, or speaking engagements. You get exposure by going outward, into the communities and people that will eventually buy from you, with something valuable to say.
Put another way, creating something valuable and free (like free free, not enter-your-email free) gives you a talking point and something to offer- two key elements to networking and marketing.
